Advancing Democracy in the Dominican Republic
Casals & Associates is developing media campaign messages in the Dominican Republic illustrating that reform is possible when citizens share in the responsibility of making democracy work. The campaign messages are part of the $1.8 million Transparency and Citizen Participation Program Casals & Associates is managing for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The principal objectives of this project are to advocate civil society’s call for accountable, transparent and participatory government; bolster capacity to monitor government performance; and establish and strengthen mechanisms within governmental institutions that prevent, detect and deter corrupt practices.
