Coalition Building in Support of the Medicare Drug Discount Program
C&A is providing public relations, event planning, and management support to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
(CMS) for its drug discount card program and other provisions of the Medicare
Modernization and Improvement Act of 2003 (MMA). To help CMS disseminate
information about the MMA to hard-to-reach Medicare beneficiaries—such
as persons with disabilities, minorities, low-income people, and residents
of rural areas—C&A is assisting CMS in building partnerships
with state and local governmental agencies together with thousands of
provider/caregiver entities that render health care services to these
hard-to-reach stakeholder groups. In tandem with these constituent outreach
services, C&A has planned and managed various CMS conferences aimed at coordinating with these partners and equipping them
to be effective messengers of MMA options and benefits.
