Grant Proposal Consensus and Peer Review Meetings C&A supported
the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ)
grant review process under a subcontract to CSR,
Inc. The NIJ is the DOJ’s research, development, and evaluation
agency dedicated to researching crime control and justice issues with
a particular emphasis on terrorism, violent crime, drugs and crime, cost-effectiveness,
and community-based efforts. Each grant proposal NIJ receives is subject
to an independent, objective, peer review evaluation carried out by researchers
and practitioners from appropriate areas of expertise. C&A
supported the grant proposal consensus and peer review meeting process,
which included recruiting and contacting reviewers and practitioners (from
an NIJ approved listing for each category), processing recruitment forms
(e.g., conflict of interest, nondisclosure, etc.), coordinating reviewer
schedules to set a panel date, coordinating travel arrangements, preparing
reviewer materials, managing onsite meeting logistics, and collecting
and copyediting the consensus reviews reports the panels prepare. |
