Anti-Corruption
Summit 2000
This summit, organized
by C&A and held from September 21-23, 2000, at the Crystal City Hilton
in Arlington, Virginia, attracted more than 300 representatives from 55
countries to discuss anti-corruption activities worldwide. Sponsored by
USAID and the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management,
the three-hour plenary session was broadcast live over the Internet as
well as the global satellite networks of the U.S. State Department and
the World Bank. Speakers included Brady Anderson, former USAID Administrator;
Stuart Eizenstat, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury; James Wolfensohn,
World Bank President; and Enrique Iglesias, President of the Inter-American
Development Bank.
