Central America and Mexico Anti-Corruption, Transparency, and Accountability Program
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) contracted C&A to lead the $28 million, five-year Central America and Mexico (CAM) Anti-Corruption, Transparency, and Accountability Program. The region-wide initiative, headquartered in Guatemala, has additional programs in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama. Under CAM, C&A is coordinating with the four countries governments to bring the private sector, civil society, and other regional stakeholders together to reduce corruption, improve transparency, and facilitate credible and effective stewardship of the countries and their public resources. CAM activities include linking anti-corruption advocates in multiple countries to tackle shared problems. Such activities include the participation by all four country programs in Transparency Internationals Global Anti-Corruption Conference held in Guatemala City in 2006.
