To support the fight against corruption, more than 1,700 Armenians attended the recent Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) Marketplace Casals & Associates organized in Yerevan.
Francois Vezina, Casals & Associates Chief of Party for the Mobilizing Action Against Corruption (MAAC) Project in Armenia, attended a key conference on fighting corruption and promoting good governance in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) conference, taking place from Sept. 16 to 18, 2009, in Astana, Kazakhstan, resulted in the Sept. 16, 2009, adoption of the the Astana Statement on Good Governance and Fighting Corruption.
Casals & Associates’ work under the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s (MCC) Threshold Program has yielded concrete results for the institutions—and people—of Paraguay. A comprehensive ethics campaign energized public servants in Paraguay’s Ministry of Education and Culture, resulting in the creation of a Code of Ethics, better governance, and an Ethics Office.
